Interlock paving remains the top choice for a driveway: durable (30 to 50 years when properly installed), a wide pattern selection, and the ability to replace individual pieces if damaged. Natural stone excels for steps, walkways and accents — its unique character adds aesthetic value standard paving doesn't. Many of our projects combine both: interlock for the driveway, natural stone for the walkway and steps.
For an interlock driveway alone, expect 3 to 5 days of site work for a standard area. For a full project including walkway, framing walls, natural-stone steps and plantings, plan for 1 to 3 weeks depending on scope. Planning (meeting, detailed quote) typically adds 1 to 3 weeks before work begins.
Yes, it's actually a common and sought-after combination: interlock for the driveway (traffic resistance, controlled cost) and natural stone for the walkway, steps or a framing wall (character and added value). We choose tones that complement each other rather than materials that compete visually.
Not always — it depends on the lot's grade and the style you want. A low framing wall structures a sloped bed or elegantly defines the entrance, but a flat lot with good plantings can do without one. We assess your lot to tell you whether a wall genuinely adds value to your project or is unnecessary.
Not necessarily with interlock paving: a damaged section can often be removed and replaced without redoing the whole surface, provided the original paver is still available or a compatible pattern is chosen. With asphalt, on the other hand, a patch repair stays visible, and a full repave gives a more uniform result. We assess your current driveway's condition before recommending a partial or full redo.
